Status

What fax delivery status actually means

Fax delivery status describes the transmission path between the sending system and the destination endpoint. It is a technical signal, and it should be interpreted alongside any confirmation from the receiving organization.

Queued

Queued means the request was accepted and is waiting to be processed. At this stage, the destination endpoint has not necessarily been contacted yet.

Sending

Sending means the fax is in progress. The final result may still be delivered or failed depending on line quality, answer behavior, page negotiation, and timeout handling.

Delivered

Delivered means the fax transmission was reported as successful. It does not guarantee that the page was routed to the right person, printed clearly, or reviewed by a recipient.

Failed

Failed means the transmission did not complete. Common causes include a non-fax number, busy destination, timeout, poor line conditions, blocked destination, or a document that could not be processed.
